The community build of the newest phase of the Kiwanis Park at Woodlawn was completed over the Memorial Day weekend as all of the play equipment was assembled. Almost 200 volunteers helped to assemble the playground equipment and to provide other needs during the weekend. The Kiwanis Club of Stuart spent 3 years raising funds and planning for the construction of the playground. The $200,000 in project costs are shared equally by the KCOS and the City of Stuart.
This playground will be usable by all children and will have equipment and ramps to allow children with disabilities to have access to slides, swings, and other exciting sensory equipment.
A grand opening of the playground will be held sometime in June.
