Pensacola Rotary Park
A new Landscape Structures, Inc. playground marking 100 years of Rotary Club in Pensacola is now open.
The world-class, inclusive, Rotary Centennial Playground is located in the middle of the grass fields along the waterfront of the Community Maritime Park. The playground was designed and built by local firms who have donated many hours to the project’s development. The playground is a project of the Downtown Rotary Club.
The playground was designed with no walls or hiding places, making it easier to supervise children. A rubberized play surface, courtesy of a $100,000 donation from Impact 100, is low maintenance and fall-friendly.
“It’s unlike other neighborhood playgrounds that address the demographics of just those that live around that neighborhood,” John Tice, Rotary member and president and CEO of Bullock Tice Associates, told the Pensacola News Journal in an April interview. “This is a place for children from all socio-economic backgrounds. It will hopefully be inviting and inclusive and bring children to play that might have never come together to play otherwise.”
